In 1952, the Castle was recognised and rewarded by English Heritage when it was granted Grade I-listed status; as a building of exceptional interest and importance. As such, we are often faced with the task of preserving the castle’s original features whilst also continuing to be an accessible venue to everyone. Here are some the ways we’re continuing to be an inclusive business:

• Bedroom access – available upon request, we have a number of bedrooms which can be accessed via a lift. We also have two ground floor rooms, one of which is a family and disabled access room.
• Bag drop – w e ask for all vehicles to be parked in the on-site car park. We allow bag-drop outside reception to avoid guests carrying baggage from the car park, and we are able to offer valet parking if required. There are 2 unmarked disabled spaces by our chapel (please ensure you display a blue badge when parking here)
• Chair lifts – With the castle being a Grade 1 listed building, we are unable to build lifts to all areas of the castle. Therefore, where possible we have installed chair lifts throughout the building.
